As much as you can wish for more time, we only get 24 hours in a day, and it’s up to you to use your time wisely. That means making time for your family, work, and yourself! So if you find yourself feeling overwhelmed or stressed constantly throughout the week, it’s time to take a step back and ask yourself, “Have I been making time for myself?”
If your answer to that question is no, then keep on reading because it’s time to change that. Prioritizing alone time for restoration will help you stay sane enough to show up for your family, your work, and yourself. Here are three tips to help you make more time for yourself starting today:
Let go of what you can.
Sometimes, you just can’t do it all. So take a hard look at your to-do lists, and decide what tasks or responsibilities you can either completely let go of or outsource. Nowadays, there are so many systems and apps that can automate tasks for you, and I promise, there’s always someone out there that you can hire to help you out, too.
Don’t be afraid to let go of duties that you can easily delegate to someone else. Here are some examples of just a few activities that you can outsource:
- Housekeeping
- Grocery Shopping
- Laundry
- Childcare
- Calendar Management
- Homework Assistant
Wake up early.
Waking up ahead of your family is the most simple way to have more free time. One of the best feelings in the world is being up hours before anyone else and taking your morning as slow and easy as you want. So start your days off with the ultimate morning routine and soak up every second of it. Then you can start your day feeling restored and ready to conquer the day!
Reschedule your schedule.
You don’t really know how you spend your time until you take a hard look at your schedule. So spend one week tracking how you spend your time during the day, and then assess how you spent your time at the end of the week. For example, did you notice that responding to emails eats away at your time? Or maybe you noticed that cooking every night takes way too long. Whatever sticks out to you, take a closer look and adjust your schedule accordingly!
